Comparing Kelvyn Boy to Samini When Is Very Disrespectful – Epixode

Ghanaian musician Epixode has expressed his displeasure over a recent comparison between Reggae and Dancehall artist Samini and Afrobeat-Highlife singer Kelvyn Boy. According to him, such comparisons are unnecessary and disrespectful to the achievements of artists.

Taking to Facebook, Epixode reacted to a post from a blog that questioned who was better at live performances between Samini and Kelvyn Boy. He found the comparison distasteful, arguing that it undermines the legacy of established artists while putting unnecessary pressure on younger musicians.

Epixode, known for his hit song Atia, believes that these comparisons take away from the hard work that artists put into building their careers. He stressed that instead of pitting musicians against each other, people should focus on appreciating their individual talents and contributions to the music industry.

He wrote:
“Seen some blog comparing KELVYNBOI to SAMINI when it comes to LIVE PERFORMANCE n asking who is better. None of my business tho but I feel it’s very disrespectful and like making a mockery of legacy n catalog. Leave the kids to grow and become legends if not One day We will also tell our kids that mentor came before concert party.”

From his statement, Epixode suggests that if such comparisons continue, future generations might not respect the true pioneers of Ghanaian music. Instead of fostering unnecessary competition, he believes it is important to create an environment where young artists can develop their craft and build lasting careers.

Samini, a veteran in the Ghanaian music industry, is widely regarded as one of the best live performers, with decades of experience and a rich catalog of hit songs. On the other hand, Kelvyn Boy, a rising star in Afrobeat and Highlife, has been praised for his musical abilities but is still in the early stages of his career.

Epixode’s concerns reflect a broader issue in the entertainment industry, where social media and entertainment blogs often create rivalries between artists. Many believe that rather than comparing musicians, industry stakeholders should focus on supporting and promoting Ghanaian music as a whole.

His comments have sparked conversations among fans and industry players, with many agreeing that artists should be celebrated for their unique contributions rather than constantly being put against one another.
