Mama Klebetesi III, known in private life as Berlinda Woelinam Azumah, is the Divisional Queen mother of the Mafi Traditional Area and Queen of Mafi Sasekpe in the Volta Region of Ghana.

She is a dedicated youth and women’s development practitioner, peacebuilder, and mediator, with a passion for community empowerment and conflict resolution.

With a strong academic background, Mama Klebetesi III holds a Master’s Degree in Peace, Security, and Intelligence Management from the University of Professional Studies, Ghana.

Her expertise extends into legal and alternative dispute resolution fields, as she is a trained mediator, paralegal, and arbitrator. Her work has been instrumental in promoting social justice and fostering peace within her community and beyond.

Beyond her traditional leadership role, Mama Klebetesi III is actively engaged in youth and women’s empowerment initiatives. She serves as the Coordinator for Youth and Women Empowerment at Trans4orm Ghana, a peacebuilding organization with an affiliate branch in Niger (Trans4orm Niger).

Through this platform, she works to enhance the capacity of young people and women, equipping them with skills and opportunities for sustainable development and peace advocacy.

Additionally, she is the Director of Peace Pulse Network (PPN), a platform dedicated to peacebuilding efforts across various communities.

As a strong advocate for gender inclusion in mediation and peace processes.
She is also a member of the West African Women Working Group and Women Mediators Ghana, both of which focus on enhancing women’s roles in peace and security matters in the region.

Mama Klebetesi III’s leadership and activism continue to inspire many, as she remains committed to fostering peace, empowering marginalized groups, and driving sustainable development within the Mafi Traditional Area and beyond.

Her dedication to mediation and conflict resolution has positioned her as a key figure in promoting harmony and progress in Ghana and West Africa.
Mama Klebetesi III is a dedicated peacebuilder, ADR practitioner, and community development advocate, with a strong commitment to empowering women, youth, and children.

As a Queen Mother in her traditional area, Mama focuses on education, peacebuilding, and economic empowerment, ensuring that vulnerable groups, especially teenage mothers and young entrepreneurs, have access to opportunities for growth and self-sufficiency.

Through her organization, Peace Pulse Network, she has spearheaded several transformative initiatives aimed at community development and conflict resolution. These projects include:

Teenage Mothers Back to School Project: A life-changing initiative designed to support teenage mothers in returning to school by providing mentorship, family engagement, and financial assistance where needed.

Over 72 teenage mothers have been trained in vocational skills such as soap and bead making, equipping them with means for self-reliance.

Smart Youth Project: A leadership development program encouraging young people to take up leadership roles and acquire skills in areas of their interest, fostering self-sufficiency and future readiness.

Community Business Project:  A women and youth empowerment initiative that supports local businesses, particularly in the production of cassava-based products like ‘Original Sasekpe Gari’, cassava flour, and corn flour. This initiative has played a crucial role in enhancing financial stability for many women in the community.

Traditional Leaders Peacebuilding & ADR Training: In response to rising conflicts in the region, Mama introduced a project focused on training traditional leaders in peacebuilding, mediation, conflict resolution, and community development. This initiative aims to foster resilience, unity, and sustainable peace within communities.

Mama’s impact has been widely recognized, earning her multiple awards, including Founder of the Year at the 2020 Volta/Oti Entrepreneurs Awards and Product of the Year, Founder of the Year, and Emerging Brand of the Year in 2021.

Her work through Peace Pulse Network continues to transform lives, bridging the gap between traditional and modern conflict resolution techniques while fostering economic growth and social stability.

With a deep-rooted passion for peace and empowerment, Mama remains committed to ensuring that women, youth, and children in her community and other communities thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
