Adventist SHS Student Shoots Classmate in Kumasi

A tragic incident occurred at Adventist Senior High School in Kumasi on April 4, 2025, during the school’s first break at around 9:30am, when a student, Bernard Amoabeng, accidentally shot a fellow classmate.

According to eyewitness accounts from students in the class, Bernard had brought a gun concealed in his school bag and reportedly showed it to a male student before threatening to use it.

Bernard then allegedly pointed the weapon at another student, Samuel Manu, who, in a panic, struck the gun in an attempt to redirect it. Unfortunately, the firearm discharged, and the bullet struck Suzzy Pinamang, a student from class 2A10, in the face.

Suzzy began bleeding heavily, prompting her classmates to alert school authorities immediately. The incident was swiftly reported to the Suame District Police Headquarters. Officers arrived on campus shortly after and arrested the suspect.

The injured student, Suzzy, was initially taken to the Kwadaso SDA Hospital but was later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for specialized treatment.

Police investigations into the matter are currently ongoing.
