The Minister of Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, who also serves as the sector Minister in charge of the National Identification Authority (NIA), made a significant visit to the Authority on February 26, 2025.
During his visit, he engaged with the management and staff of the NIA, recognizing its crucial role in issuing identification cards to both citizens and foreign residents in Ghana.
He highlighted the Authority’s importance in the country’s national security framework.
Hon. Mubarak stressed the need for strong collaboration between the NIA and security agencies to uphold peace and stability. He further outlined the vision of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for the NIA, emphasizing its role in enhancing national security.
Given the instability in some neighboring countries, he underscored the increasing importance of the NIA’s work in safeguarding Ghana.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration, aiming to make Ghana the safest destination in West Africa for living and business.
