H.E. John Dramani Mahama has appointed Kafui Danku-Pitcher as Executive Secretary of the Ghana National Film Authority

Ghanaian actress, filmmaker, and entrepreneur Kafui Danku-Pitcher has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) in Ghana.

With a strong background in the creative arts, tourism, and economic development, Ms. Danku-Pitcher brings a wealth of experience to this important role.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and Classics from the University of Cape Coast and is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at the University of Ghana.

Her areas of expertise include leadership, governance, creative industry management, communication, digital literacy, and strategic partnerships.

Passionate about advancing the creative sector, she is dedicated to promoting cultural preservation and economic growth through innovative policies.

Since 2008, Kafui Danku-Pitcher has worked as an actress and filmmaker, becoming the executive producer at ABC Pictures Limited in 2013.

Her experience extends beyond the entertainment industry; she has also worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as a Repatriation Assistant.

This role provided her with crucial skills in policy implementation, refugee support, socio-economic research, and strategic problem-solving.

A committed activist and Goodwill Ambassador, she launched the ‘Silence Is Not Golden’ initiative to encourage women to speak out against abuse. Additionally, she has been a strong advocate against child marriage and has supported children suffering from Kwashiorkor.

Her contributions to social and political causes have earned her recognition from the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) for her efforts in women’s empowerment, politics, peace, and economic security.

Her leadership and ability to foster partnerships have also garnered her numerous accolades, including Tourism Personality of the Year 2024 and Most Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Rising Star.

With her extensive experience and visionary leadership, Kafui Danku-Pitcher is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of Ghana’s film industry and enhancing its presence on the global stage.
