ORAL Is About Justice, Not Witch-Hunting – Asiedu Nketiah Assures

National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has clarified the party’s stance on its anti-corruption initiative, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), dismissing claims that it will be used as a tool for political witch-hunting.

In a firm response to concerns, Asiedu Nketiah emphasized that, unlike the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, the NDC has no intention of using state mechanisms to unjustly target political opponents.

“We won’t use ORAL to witch-hunt NPP members like they would,” he stated.

He explained that the purpose of ORAL is to recover public funds lost to corruption and to ensure accountability in governance—not to settle political scores.

According to him, the initiative is being rolled out in the national interest, and the NDC remains committed to pursuing justice through legal and institutional channels.

“The ORAL Committee was meant to create a preparatory platform for whistleblowers to share credible information before we set up the full institutional framework for recovery,” he said, highlighting the need for a solid foundation to ensure the process is credible and effective.

Asiedu Nketiah also noted that several state institutions were weakened under the previous administration, and restoring integrity to those structures is a necessary step that will require time and effort.
