Going to School Doest not Guarantee Understanding of Good Music- M.anifest

Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has shared insights into what it takes to create truly remarkable music. Speaking to DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, he highlighted the importance of alignment and inspiration, rather than just technical knowledge.

“You can go to school for music forever, but that doesn’t guarantee inspiration or the ability to make incredible music,” M.anifest explained. “It guarantees you an understanding or the ability to mimic what’s great. But if you’re not aligned, you can’t. It’s not possible.”

Discussing his creative process, the rapper revealed that he often enters the studio without a clear plan. “Bro, I go into the studio, and I have no idea what’s going to happen, but I know with the alignment I have, something will happen,” he said. He recalled how one of his songs was born by accident while searching for percussion sounds, only to stumble upon horns that completely changed the direction of the track.

Beyond music, M.anifest also mentioned a backup career option if things didn’t work out financially. “If money becomes an issue, I’ll be a DJ. I have an option. I make incredible playlists. I’m not even trying to gas myself up,” he stated, emphasizing his deep love for music.

M.anifest’s perspective reinforces the idea that making great music is not just about technical expertise but also about alignment, creativity, and inspiration.
