NPP Refers Adwoa Safo to Disciplinary Committee Over Alleged Divisive Remarks

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, a former Member of Parliament and Minister of State, over comments she allegedly made that could incite division within the party.

In a statement issued by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP accused Adwoa Safo of violating directives that prohibit party members from making public remarks likely to cause unrest and disunity. The controversial comments were reportedly made during her appearance on Joy News’ Pulse Show.

“The directive is clear all party members must avoid making statements that promote negativity, unrest, and discontent,” the statement emphasized.

As a former Deputy Majority Leader and Minister under the NPP government, Adwoa Safo was reminded of her obligation to uphold party unity and discipline. The party further noted that her conduct directly contravenes Article 3(5) of the NPP’s constitution, which calls on members to protect the party’s reputation.

In light of these concerns, the NPP has referred the former Dome-Kwabenya MP to its National Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and action.
