I expected better from him – Nana Aba Anamoah

Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah has strongly criticized former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Mark Okraku Mantey for what she described as poor performance during his time in office.

During a discussion on United Showbiz, Nana Aba expressed her disappointment, accusing him of failing to improve the entertainment industry. Her comments sparked reactions from other panelists, who also criticized the former minister.

Following her remarks, some people questioned whether she had a personal issue with Okraku-Mantey. In response, Nana Aba clarified that on Joy Prime’s Changes show that she does, stating that since her taxes contributed to his salary and benefits, his performance directly affects her.

“Yes, I have a personal problem with him because if my taxes pay your salary and fuel your car, it’s personal,” she told host Roselyn Felli on February 19, 2025.

When asked if she was friends with Okraku Mantey, she described him as an “acquaintance” and said she would repeat her criticism to him in person.

Explaining her outburst, Nana Aba said she was disappointed because, as someone with a media background, Okraku Mantey was expected to do more for the entertainment industry. She argued that he should have brought positive changes but failed, leaving creatives struggling even more.

“I expected better from him. He should have helped move the industry forward, but instead, things have gotten worse,” she said.

According to Nana Aba, Okraku-Mantey’s recent comments about how media stations should run their shows were unnecessary, adding that he had no authority to dictate to them. For her, the real issue was his overall failure to make a meaningful impact in the industry.
