Accra Hearts of Oak and Ghana Black Stars goalkeeper Benjamin Asare is making headlines for his generous gesture off the pitch.
The shot-stopper reportedly shared nearly half of his GH¢170,000 bonus earned from representing Ghana in two recent World Cup qualifiers with his Hearts of Oak teammates.
According to Fakye TV, Asare didn’t just limit his generosity to the men’s squad but also extended it to players from the Hearts of Oak women’s team, earning him admiration across the local football community.
Asare recently solidified his status as Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper, delivering clean sheets in crucial matches against Chad and Madagascar.
However, despite his rising profile with the national team, he has surprisingly been omitted from Hearts of Oak’s last two matches raising questions about his standing at the club.
