Nana Ama McBrown Opens Up About Adoption and Parenting

Ghanaian actress and television personality Nana Ama McBrown recently shared an emotional and heartfelt account of her parenting journey on the popular women’s empowerment show Diva Doc during a candid conversation with renowned lawyer and media figure Thelma Wright.

In a touching revelation that has since gone viral, McBrown disclosed that although she has only one biological child, she is a proud mother of six including children she has lovingly taken under her wing, one of whom is an adopted baby girl.

The actress spoke specifically about adopting a one-year-old child who lost her mother, though the child’s father is still alive. Demonstrating a thoughtful and compassionate approach to co-parenting, McBrown explained that she has set clear visitation guidelines to ensure the child maintains a connection with her biological father.

According to her, the father is allowed to visit his daughter once every two months, six times a year, spending an entire day with her during each visit.

“I told the father that whenever she grows up and wants to come to you, or whenever you want to come for her, it’s okay,” McBrown stated.

“In the meantime, she is mine.” She added, “I don’t want the child to feel like, ‘Where is my father?’ all the time. But at least the father comes home.”
