Empress Gifty Sues Nana Agradaa for GHS20 Million Over Defamation Claims

Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty has launched a GHS20 million defamation lawsuit against self-styled evangelist Nana Agradaa. The suit, filed by her legal counsel, Sam Kyere Esq., at the Tema High Court, accuses Agradaa, whose real name is Patricia Asiedua, of making damaging and defamatory remarks against the gospel star.

The legal action follows a recent social media incident where Agradaa reportedly unleashed a series of verbal attacks directed at Empress Gifty and her husband, Hopeson Adorye. The outburst was allegedly triggered by Adorye’s commentary regarding a controversial cash gift matter involving Agradaa and politician Sammy Gyamfi.

In a series of videos posted online, Nana Agradaa not only dismissed the criticism but intensified her verbal assault on the couple with offensive language.

Per the Statement of Claim, Empress Gifty is seeking the following reliefs from the court:

GHS20 million in damages for defamation.

A perpetual injunction restraining Nana Agradaa and her associates from making or publishing further defamatory statements.

A court order compelling Agradaa to remove all defamatory videos and audios from her social media platforms.

Compensation covering legal costs and professional fees.

As of now, Nana Agradaa has yet to release an official response to the lawsuit, though her online conduct remains confrontational, hinting at a willingness to battle the claims publicly.
