President John Mahama Suspends activities after Military Helicopter Crash Wednesday 6th August 2025

His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has suspended all scheduled activities and engagements for the remainder of the week following the tragic death of eight individuals in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
In a press statement signed by the Spokesperson for the President and Minister for Government Communications, Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the presidency described the incident as a national tragedy and announced three days of national mourning beginning Thursday, August 7
The President has suspended all his scheduled activities and programs for the rest of the week in response to this national tragedy involving the loss of eight lives in a helicopter crash, the statement read.
There will be three days of national mourning starting tomorrow, Thursday, August 7, 2025.
All flags are to be flown at half-mast across the country until further notice,” the statement directed. This instruction was issued through the Chief of Staff as the nation grapples with this devastating loss.
