Ghana Partners Nokia for 3-Year Digital Skills Training in AI, 5G and Robotics

Ghana is preparing to roll out a Nokia-funded three-year Digital Skills Project aimed at equipping the nation’s youth with advanced technological knowledge. The initiative, which will focus on 5G, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics, is expected to boost Ghana’s digital readiness and position young people for opportunities in the fast-evolving global economy.

Ahead of the rollout, Plan International Ghana has engaged key Members of Parliament, including Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, and Mohammed Adams Sukparu, MP for Sissala West, to ensure policy alignment and stakeholder support.

The program will provide practical training for young Ghanaians, helping them acquire future-ready skills that can drive innovation and entrepreneurship while creating a skilled workforce to meet industry demand.

Mr. George emphasized that the project reflects Ghana’s commitment to leveraging technology for socio-economic growth, while Sukparu highlighted its importance in bridging the digital divide across rural and urban communities.

The Digital Skills Project is expected to commence later this year, marking a major step toward Ghana’s digital transformation agenda.
