2026 Will Be a Strong Year for Agriculture – Hon. John Dumelo

Ghanaian Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Hon. John Setor Dumelo, has expressed confidence that 2026 will be a prosperous year for Ghana’s agricultural sector.

He assured farmers that the government is taking practical steps to address longstanding challenges, particularly issues of produce glut and post-harvest losses.

According to Hon. Dumelo, measures are being implemented to minimize waste and improve value chains to ensure farmers fully benefit from their hard work.

He further revealed that government interventions are focused on guaranteeing ready and reliable markets for farm produce across the country.

The Deputy Minister Agriculture made these remarks in a social media post following working visits to the Western and Western North regions, where he interacted with farmers and agricultural stakeholders. His engagements, he noted, highlighted both the potential of the sector and the urgent need for sustained support.

Hon. Dumelo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening agriculture as a key driver of economic growth and food security.
