Adwoa Safo Fears Political Victimisation If Kennedy Agyapong Becomes President

Former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, Adwoa Safo, has sparked public debate following comments suggesting that her political future could be threatened if outspoken legislator Kennedy Agyapong were to become President of Ghana.
Speaking in remarks widely circulated in the media, the former Gender Minister referenced her long-standing political disagreements with Kennedy Agyapong, noting that their history of public clashes has raised concerns about potential victimisation under his leadership.
According to her, Ghana’s presidency should be guided by tolerance, fairness and respect for divergent opinions rather than anger or personal vendettas.
Adwoa Safo argued that leadership driven by aggression could undermine democratic principles and silence opposing voices, stressing the need for a unifying national figure. Her comments, however, have triggered mixed reactions across the political divide.
While some Ghanaian’s agree that a president must demonstrate restraint and inclusiveness, others contend that personal fears and political rivalries should not be used to assess an individual’s leadership capabilities.
