Fancy Gadam Laments Poor Royalties Questions Value Placed on Ghanaian Musicians

Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam has raised serious concerns about how the music industry values creative work after revealing a royalty notification of just GHS 123.82.

In a strongly worded message, the award-winning artist described the amount as a painful reflection of years of creativity, sleepless nights, studio expenses, promotions, and relentless hard work.

According to Fancy, the notification was more than a financial update; it symbolized a deeper problem within the creative ecosystem, where artists continue to struggle despite producing music that entertains and inspires millions. He stressed that while musicians are driven by passion and love for their craft, passion alone cannot sustain a livelihood.

The  award-winning Tamale-based music star called for urgent reforms in music monetization, royalties distribution, and intellectual property enforcement to protect creatives.
