Bullgod Calls for Mental Health Awareness in Creative Industry

Ghanaian entertainment pundit and artist manager, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanso, popularly known as Bullgod, has underscored the urgent need for mental health awareness within the creative arts industry. His remarks follow the sudden passing of celebrated Highlife musician, Dada KD.

Appearing on UTV’s United Showbiz over the weekend, Bullgod shared heartfelt memories of his last phone conversation with Dada KD, which took place on the morning of Friday, May 16, 2025 — the same day the musician sadly passed away. He revealed that their discussion focused on an upcoming event in the UK where Dada KD was set to perform. Although the legendary singer mentioned he wasn’t feeling well, there was no indication it would be his final day.

Reflecting on their relationship, Bullgod disclosed that Dada KD often appeared emotionally weighed down during their personal conversations. “It’s true,” Bullgod noted. “Sometimes when you meet him and have deep talks, you can tell something was bothering him. He looked like someone dealing with inner battles.”

According to Bullgod, Dada KD was passionately devoted to the growth of Ghanaian music, with a particular interest in promoting musicians from Kumasi. However, the constant demands and pressures of the industry appeared to take a toll on his emotional well-being.

Taking this moment to deliver a broader message, Bullgod advised against suppressing emotional struggles, a habit he believes is widespread among both entertainers and the general public. “The mind is a processor, not a hard drive,” he emphasized, encouraging individuals to speak out and prioritize their mental health.

The news of Dada KD’s death broke through social media on the evening of May 16, 2025, leaving fans and music lovers devastated, as the artist had shown no visible signs of serious illness before his passing.
