Buem Traditional Council Pays Tribute to Eight Fallen Heroes

The Chiefs and Elders of the Buem Traditional Area have expressed their deep sorrow over the tragic loss of eight courageous Ghanaians who perished in a helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.


At a solemn gathering held at the Jasikan Municipal Assembly Hall, Nana Edje Tete Kpase-Brantuo VII, the Adontenhene of Buem, delivered a heartfelt tribute on behalf of the Traditional Council. He described the day of the crash as a “Black Wednesday.”

Nana Brantuo commended the victims for their outstanding service, patriotism, and sacrifice in protecting Ghana’s environment, particularly in the fight against illegal mining (galamsey). “Their commitment to the national cause exemplifies the highest ideals of service and courage,” he stated. “Their sacrifices remind us of the preciousness of life, the importance of unity, and the dignity of service to our Motherland.

The Buem Traditional Council extended its condolences to the bereaved families, the Ghana Armed Forces, President John Dramani Mahama, and the nation. They pledged to uphold the values that the fallen heroes stood for and urged all Ghanaians to contribute to the nation’s development, even at personal risk.

The tribute concluded with prayers for the eternal rest of the departed souls and blessings for the continued peace and prosperity of Ghana.
