Ghanaian media personality and entrepreneur Serwaa Amihere has shared how she deals with online bullying and false stories about her.
In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Serwaa said she has learned to ignore negative comments on social media. She believes that most people who troll others online are unhappy with their own lives.
According to her, those who spend time attacking celebrities do so because they have nothing productive to do. “If they were busy with work or something meaningful, they wouldn’t have time to troll others,” she said.
Serwaa also mentioned that she avoids reading comments under her posts and only checks them occasionally for positive messages. She admitted that she used to respond to negative comments but later realized it wasn’t worth it.
She questioned why some people choose to spread negativity online when everyone has their struggles. Her statement has sparked conversations about the increasing issue of online trolling and the need for a more positive social media space.
Serwaa also revealed that many of the people who insult her online act differently when they meet her in person. She said those who boldly criticize her on social media become shy and silent when they see her face-to-face.
For what reason should I pay attention to them?” she asked, adding that their real-life behavior shows that their online negativity is not worth her time or energy.
