Fameye is My Only True Friend in the Music Industry – Akwaboah

Ghanaian Award-winning singer and songwriter, Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr, widely known as Akwaboah Jr, has revealed that genuine friendship is rare in the music industry.

In an exclusive interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, the soulful musician disclosed that among all his colleagues, Fameye stands out as his only true confidant. According to him, they frequently share personal struggles and advice, building a strong bond beyond music.

“Fameye is the only person I talk to often and share my problems with, and he does the same. He has deep knowledge about life and the realities we face,” Akwaboah said.

He recounted how their friendship blossomed after meeting in the United States and has since grown into a genuine brotherhood. Unlike other industry colleagues, Fameye is the only one he feels comfortable inviting home for casual hangouts.

Touching on the broader industry, Akwaboah expressed disappointment about the lack of sincerity among musicians, stressing that many relationships are driven by personal gain rather than true love and support.
