Rudeboy Vows Legal Action Over Defamatory Social Media Allegations

Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has announced plans to pursue legal action against a social media user who made serious allegations against him on X (formerly Twitter). The singer described the claims as defamatory and stressed his intention to protect his reputation through legal means.

The controversy began after photos from the 25th birthday celebration of Rudeboy’s wife, Ivy Ifeoma, surfaced online on September 23, 2024. While the images were meant to mark a joyous occasion, they quickly became the center of heated discussions. An X user identified as @chubbiediva allegedly made damaging claims about the artist, which drew further commentary referencing Okoye’s previous marriage to Anita Okoye.

In response, Rudeboy addressed the matter publicly, warning against the spread of falsehoods and emphasizing his zero-tolerance stance on unverified allegations.

The incident underscores the broader challenge of social media accountability, where misinformation spreads rapidly and can impact the reputations of public figures. Legal experts note that Rudeboy’s move is in line with steps many celebrities now take to curb defamatory content online.

Rudeboy, who welcomed his daughter Imani Ugomma Okoye with Ifeoma in September 2024, remains focused on his solo career and family life while navigating ongoing tensions within the Okoye family following the P-Square split.
