US Grants Ghanaians 5 Year Multiple Entry Visas with Expanded Consular Privileges

Ghanaians traveling to the United States can now benefit from a significant policy shift as the US government has officially lifted visa restrictions. Citizens of Ghana are now eligible to obtain five-year multiple-entry visas along with enhanced consular privileges, a development expected to strengthen ties between the two nations.

The announcement was made by Allison Hooker, US Secretary of State for Political Affairs, during a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. She emphasized that the decision reflects Washington’s commitment to deepening diplomatic and people-to-people relations with Ghana.

This new arrangement means Ghanaian applicants, once approved, can travel to the US multiple times over five years without the need for frequent renewals. Analysts believe the policy will ease travel for business leaders, students, and families while boosting trade, cultural exchange, and tourism.

Ghana’s delegation welcomed the decision, describing it as a milestone that reaffirms the mutual respect and partnership between the two countries.
