A Plus Advocates Third-Term Presidency for JDM in Push for Sustained Development
Gomoa Central Member of Parliament, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has sparked national debate after openly calling for a third-term presidency for President John Dramani Mahama. According to the outspoken lawmaker, Ghana must be willing to rethink its constitutional term limits if the country is to achieve sustained national development.
A Plus argued that frequent changes in political leadership often disrupt long-term development plans, leading to abandoned projects and policy inconsistencies. He maintained that allowing a performing president additional time in office would help consolidate gains made in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic management.
The MP emphasized that his call is not about personality politics but about prioritizing Ghana’s progress over rigid political traditions. He urged Ghanaians to engage in an open and mature conversation about governance reforms that reflect the country’s developmental needs.
