Zanzibar will transform into the epicenter of African music as it hosts the Trace Awards 2025, the continent’s most prestigious music ceremony.
This highly anticipated event will unite Africa’s biggest stars and its diaspora for an extraordinary showcase of musical excellence and diversity.
The stage will shine with performances from global icons, including Rema, Diamond Platnumz, Yemi Alade, Fally Ipupa, Joshua Baraka, and the duo Titom & Yuppe, among many other celebrated artists.
This year’s Trace Awards will feature artists from over 30 countries, representing Africa, South America, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, and Europe. With 24 award categories, the ceremony will highlight a rich spectrum of musical styles, including Afrobeat, dancehall, hip-hop, amapiano, zouk, coupé-décalé, bongo flava, soukous, gospel, and more.
The lineup will showcase powerhouse performers representing their nations with pride. Tanzania will be represented by stars like Diamond Platnumz, Alikiba, Zuchu, Marioo, Nandy, Abigail Chams, and Young Lunya. Ivory Coast will feature artists such as Didi B, Josey, Tamsir, KS Bloom, Team Paiya, and HIMRA.
Expect electrifying performances from Fally Ipupa, Innoss’B, and Gaz Mawete representing the Democratic Republic of Congo. Nigeria will also make its mark with artists including King Promise, Qing Madi, P Priime, Rema, and Yemi Alade.
The night will be amplified by the legendary British group The Compozers, who will once again serve as the official house band, delivering a seamless Afrobeat experience.
Additionally, renowned British Rwandan choreographer Sherrie Silver, known for her groundbreaking work on Childish Gambino’s “This Is America,” will bring her visionary choreography to the Trace Awards stage, ensuring a visually stunning performance.
