Rex Owusu Marfo, popularly known as Rex Omar, the Coordinator of the Blackstar Experience at the Office of the President, has shared insights into the objectives of his secretariat.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie, Rex Omar emphasized that the initiative will work closely with various government institutions to achieve its goals. Key among them are job creation and youth empowerment.
“We will be responsible for strategic vision and framework, branding and marketing initiatives, collaborative partnerships, investment mobilization, job creation, and youth empowerment,” he stated.
He further explained that his team would collaborate with the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, the Ministry of Tourism, and other relevant agencies to ensure the smooth implementation of the program.
Additionally, Rex Omar highlighted that the Blackstar Experience includes infrastructural projects, requiring investment mobilization and partnerships with private investors through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).
The Blackstar Experience is the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagship initiative for Culture, Arts, and Tourism. Its mission is to redefine Ghanaian identity, attract investments, create jobs, and boost tourism through year-round celebrations across various entertainment, artistic, and educational fields.
