Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) Goes Digital to Improve Transparency and Service

The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has launched a new digital system to make its work more efficient and transparent, especially in preparation for the 2025/26 caterer selection process.

The software was developed by Virtual Solutions and shown to the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, on March 24, 2025. It will help with selecting caterers, keeping track of meals served, collecting data from schools, making payments faster, and solving disputes.

This new system replaces manual processes that often cause delays and confusion. With the digital system, GSFP can now monitor school feeding activities in real-time and make sure caterers are selected fairly.

The Minister praised the team for their work and said the system would help fix problems like late payments and food shortages. She added that it supports the President’s goal of ensuring every child gets healthy meals on time.

The new digital system is funded by the Government of Ghana and the World Food Programme. It is expected to benefit both caterers and students by improving food quality, fairness, and overall service.
