New North Tongu DCE Vows to Tackle Developmental Challenges with Bold Initiatives

Victoria Amefadzi Yawa-Doe, confirmed as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for North Tongu, has pledged her full commitment to collaborating with President John Mahama to accelerate development in the district.

During her acceptance speech, Yawa-Doe acknowledged the pressing challenges confronting the area, particularly in the sectors of education, healthcare, water and sanitation, and road infrastructure. “North Tongu faces several challenges, particularly in education, healthcare, water and sanitation, and road infrastructure,” she stated.

To tackle these issues, she underscored the importance of unity and cooperation among assembly members, traditional leaders, and the broader local community. Among her top priorities are the revitalization of the Juapong Textile Factory, resettlement and compensation for those affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage, construction of the Dorfor Adidome Bridge, and the establishment of a satellite campus of the University of Health and Allied Sciences in the district.

Yawa-Doe assured the assembly of her intention to engage them in detailed discussions on the implementation of these initiatives. “I will soon reach out for further discussions and implementation of these initiatives,” she said.

Her appointment forms part of President Mahama’s broader nomination of District, Municipal, and Metropolitan Chief Executives across various regions, pending approval from their respective assemblies.
