It Was My Ex-Girlfriend Who Caused My Arrest – Okatakyie Afrifa Speaks

Ghanaian political commentator Okatakyie Afrifa has spoken out about why he was recently arrested by the Cyber Crime Unit of the Ghana Police Service.

Many people thought his arrest was politically motivated, but Afrifa says it was actually caused by his ex-girlfriend, Anne Sana Daly.

Speaking on his show For The Records, Afrifa claimed that his former partner falsely accused him of sextortion. He said she even edited their old conversations to make it seem like he was blackmailing her.

“She reported me to the police, saying I had her private photos and was using them to blackmail her. When I asked for proof, the police took me home, seized some of my belongings, and said they would investigate.”

Afrifa, who dated her six years ago, didn’t reveal much about their past but suggested she has a history of troubling behavior.

“I won’t talk about how toxic she was, but I know the authorities have a file on her. She should be careful. She changed our messages to make it look like I had explicit content.”

The police are still investigating the case.
