K!dn@pped V!ct!ms To Be Flown Home From Nigeria

The Ghana Police Service reportedly is working with Nigerian authorities to repatriate two female v!ct!ms and suspects involved in a high-profile kid,nap,ping that went viral on the internet.

The victims, whose distress video sparked widespread outrage, were rescued through a coordinated effort involving the Ghana security authorities and the Nigerian Police Force.

In a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday, May 7, the Director General of the Cr!m!nal Investigations Department (CID), DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, confirmed that both the v!ct!ms and eight suspects are currently in Nigeria and steps are being taken to transport them safely back to Ghana and to extradite the suspects as well.

She said, “As of today, both suspects and v!ct!ms are with the Nigerian authorities, and efforts are being made to transport the victims to Ghana and also extradite the suspects to Ghana to assist investigations.”

According to reports, the v!ct!ms’ families reportedly paid a total of GHS18,000 in ran,som to various mobile money numbers before the rescue. However, despite the trauma, the v!ct!ms are in stable condition.

DCOP Donkor added, “Information received from our counterparts in Nigeria indicates that both victims are fine. They have received routine medical checks”.
