Elmina Sharks President Dr. Nduom to Serve a Three-month Suspension for Misconduct
The decision comes after Dr. Nduom was found guilty of misconduct during his club’s match against Swedru All Blacks United FC. The committee’s investigation revealed that Dr. Nduom had interfered with the game, incited players against match officials, and made social media comments that encouraged hostility towards referees.
Specifically, he was seen entering the team’s technical area without authorization and gesturing aggressively toward the officials after a decision went against Elmina Sharks. Dr. Nduom’s post-match comments on social media were also deemed to be provocative, fueling tensions among fans and players.
The GFA Disciplinary Committee has warned Dr. Nduom that any future violations will result in stricter punishment, including a potential stadium ban.
In addition to the fine and suspension, Elmina Sharks has been instructed to educate their management and staff on respecting match officials and the integrity of the game. Dr. Nduom has seven days to appeal the decision.
Elmina Sharks FC has also been fined GHS20,000 and ordered to play the remainder of their home matches behind closed doors.
