Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie Commends Channel One TV and Citi FM for Promoting Ghanaian Culture

The Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, and Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has applauded Channel One TV and Citi FM for their instrumental role in spearheading Heritage Month and using their platforms to promote Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.

Speaking as the guest speaker at the launch of Heritage Month, Hon. Gomashie expressed her appreciation for their commitment to preserving and showcasing Ghanaian traditions.

She highlighted the importance of media in cultural preservation and commended both Channel One TV and Citi FM for their dedication.

The launch event took place on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Channel One TV station in Tesano Gardens. It brought together key industry stakeholders, traditional leaders, and cultural enthusiasts to celebrate Ghana’s vibrant heritage and discuss ways to further promote cultural identity.

He is best known as the CEO of the Volta Media Excellence Awards (VMEA), an initiative established in 2020 to recognize and motivate media practitioners in the Volta and Oti regions. Under his leadership, VMEA has honored over 100 media professionals and organized events such as media literacy conferences and health screenings for journalists.
