President Mahama Launches One Million Coders Programme to Drive Digital Transformation

President John Dramani Mahama has launched the One Million Coders Programme in Accra, marking a major step in his administration’s drive to equip Ghanaians with essential digital skills for the modern world.

“This is not just a fulfilled campaign promise. It is a strategic pillar of our Reset Ghana Agenda, designed to empower Ghanaians with digital skills critical for 21st-century life and work.

It is an intentional move toward building a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy where our greatest resource our people are equipped to create solutions, generate jobs, and compete globally,” President Mahama stated during the launch.

The One Million Coders Programme aims to provide training in coding and other digital competencies to one million Ghanaians, especially the youth, to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment.

The initiative aligns with global trends where digital literacy is increasingly becoming a fundamental requirement for economic participation and national development.
