CODAM Applauds Government for Fulfilling Manifesto Promise on Assembly Members’ Remuneration

The Coalition of District Assembly Members (CODAM) has commended President John Dramani Mahama and his government for fulfilling a key promise made in the 2024 NDC manifesto.

The promise, clearly stated on page 10, paragraph 4 of the manifesto, ensures that all Assembly Members receive their rightful remuneration.

In a press statement released after the budget delivery, CODAM expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the government for taking decisive action on this promise.

The finance minister, Hon. Dr. Ato Forson, confirmed during the 2025 budget statement that the government has allocated GHC100 billion for the remuneration of Assembly Members across the country.

CODAM believes that this significant step reinforces their collective commitment to good governance, transparency, and the efficient functioning of the Assemblies.

The coalition also highlighted that President Mahama has strengthened public confidence and set a benchmark for accountability and inclusive development in the nation.

The statement, signed by Hon. Mawunyo Agbe, president of CODAM and Dean of Presiding Members in the Volta Region, congratulated President Mahama on this milestone achievement. CODAM reaffirmed its dedication to working in close partnership with the government.

CODAM expressed confidence that this action will enhance the operational capacity of Assembly Members, contributing to more effective service delivery at the grassroots level.
