DopeNation Did did not File For Nominations At The TGMAs Because Of Experience From 2021

Ghanaian musical duo DopeNation has addressed their decision not to submit their songs for this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

The ‘Zormimor’ hitmakers responded to claims made by DJ Slim, host of The Street is Watching podcast, who suggested that the group was absent from the nominations because they ignored attempts from the awards research team.

During a discussion with a listener, DopeNation confirmed that they chose not to participate, adding that their decision was not impulsive.

They hinted at lingering issues dating back to 2021, emphasizing that their withdrawal reflected ongoing dissatisfaction with the industry.

Although the duo did not directly confirm or deny DJ Slim’s statements about the TGMA team’s outreach, their remarks suggest frustration over how they’ve been treated in the music scene.
